HARM REDUCTION
Lake Region Syringe Services & Harm Reduction Program's mission is to make a positive impact on the health and welfare of the community by preventing the spread of HIV and Hepatitis by reducing disease transmission through providing clean injection equipment, education, linkage to care, and safe needle disposal.
Staff
Harm Reduction Nurse
This Strictly confidential program includes:

Syringes/needles, supplies, disposal containers for syringes, safe sex kits, and wound care kits
-
Fentanyl and xylazine test strips (for program participants only) not available for the public
-
Safer sex supplies including condoms and dental dams
-
Naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses
-
Education and training on drug overdose response, risk reduction, and treatment including the administration of overdose reversal medication

Safe disposal of used syringes

HIV & Hepatitis C testing

Education on safer injection, HIV, hepatitis C, and STI prevention
Staff can help program participants get connected to optional services including:

Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and others.

Referrals to medical care, substance use disorder treatment, mental health services, social services, housing, employment, and more.

Immunizations including flu, Covid-19, Hepatitis A & B.
Other immunizations may also be available but there may be an out-of-pocket fee.
